About Us

Maneesha is a non-political, non-profit, and non-governmental organization situated in Bangladesh. Founded on April 12th, 1972 by a coalition of educated and like-minded social activists, Maneesha is committed to enhancing the socio-economic and cultural well-being of rural disadvantaged and vulnerable populations, with a special focus on women and children.

At Maneesha, we champion a participatory, bottom-up, non-directive, and holistic development philosophy. Our initiatives are geared towards capacity building, resource provision, human rights advocacy, and enhancing access to education, healthcare, and effective governance. Collaborating closely with local communities, we identify their needs and implement impactful programs.

Recognizing that poverty eradication alone is insufficient, we prioritize education, healthcare, and good governance as essential components for individuals to lead fulfilling lives. Our interventions are designed to empower communities and foster self-reliance by leveraging modern technologies and addressing felt needs through innovative problem-solving.
